Short films: narrative work with the same craft as the commercials

The short answer

A Velrun short film is a narrative piece of two to ten minutes, written and storyboarded in-house and generated shot by shot with characters pinned so they hold across scenes. Brands use them as stories that carry the brand rather than sell a product; founders and festivals use them as films. They take longer than a commercial and are quoted on their own.

What it is

A story with a beginning, a middle and an end, made without a shoot. The Nun, a comedy about a family road trip and a hitchhiking nun, and Inferis, a teaser with a cabin in the snow and an owl that watches, are on this site.

Who it is for

Brands that want a story people choose to watch instead of an ad they skip; founders and writers with a script and no budget for a crew; festivals and online channels looking for AI-native work that reads as film.

How it works

Script first, whether yours or ours. Then boards for every shot, approved by you. Then generation with character, wardrobe and world pinned across scenes, then edit, grade, sound and music. A short runs two to four weeks or more depending on length and cast; the quote says so before we start.

What you get

The film in 16:9 with a mixed soundtrack, a trailer or teaser cut, vertical cutdowns for social, stills and a poster frame. Rights are yours once the final payment clears; festival submissions are your call.

Where the craft shows

Consistency across scenes is the hard part of an AI film. It comes from the boards and the pinning, and from an edit that cuts generated shots like footage. The board-to-frame sliders on the homepage show what that looks like.

Questions

Can you write the script?

Yes. Bring the idea and the audience; script and boards are ours. If you have a script, we work from it.

How long a film can you make?

Two to ten minutes is the range we work in. Longer is possible and is quoted as a series of shorts.

Can real actors be involved?

A real person’s likeness or voice needs their written consent. Otherwise the cast is created for the film.
